Blackboard SP 14 & April 2014 Upgrade
Here are some more of the new features:
Course Message Notifications
Messages and emails received in Blackboard, notoriously easy to overlook, will generate notifications on the Updates page of the Global Navigation Menu, as well as on individual course Dashboards.
A. Browse all notifications. Posts remain in My Blackboard for a week (7 days). Your grades stay in My Blackboard for as long as you have access to your course. For updates, your institution decides how long notifications remain in My Blackboard. You can dismiss an update once you have seen it. Safe Assign
Safe Assign is fully integrated into the Assignment Tool. The Safe Assign option can be enabled and managed from within the assignment creation screen. Assignments no longer need to begin life as a Safe Assign item in order to have that feature. The option to have an assignment checked through Safe Assign is accesses through the Edit Assignment. Once the Safe Assign tool is activated for an Assignment, the results will be displayed on the assignment grading sidebar.

Date Management
Date Management allows instructors to view and manage all
course due dates from one place. Dates
can be updated one at a time or shifted forward or back as a group, instantly
updating relevant assignment, assessment, and gradebook entries.
A. Select Use Course Start Date or Adjust by Number of Days to adjust the date accordingly. B. You can also review all dates and adjust them later on the Date Management Review page. Date Management Video (3:12) . Inline Assignment Grading Updates
Inline Assignment Grading. Hopefully, you are actively using the inline assignment feature. New updates make the tool even easier to use. As you know, Inline Grading allows instructors to view files
and attachments within the web browser without opening additional windows or
applications. Feedback and annotations
can be added directly to the inline view of the document. Now, Blackboard adds a full screen view, allowing users to slide the sidebar out of the way to maximize the document and have plenty of room for commenting. In addition, the assignment grading sidebar design that Blackboard introduced is added to Blogs, Discussions, Journals, and Wikis. This creates a more consistent grading experience.
